Stephen Kuhrt is an author steeped in the Church of England. He is a vicar, and comes from a family of vicars, as well as being married to a vicar’s daughter. He runs a lively suburban parish in New Malden, South West London.

One of Stephen’s passions is that life should be underpinned by faith, and faith should be worked out in practice. This applies to churches as well as to individuals. He has written extensively on this subject, demonstrating how the best practices are rooted in thoughtful and well-applied theology.

As a result he is an outspoken advocate for the integration of biblical theology and practice in a number of areas of life such as child-friendly church, the full ministry of women in the church, and, in recent years, the reform of safeguarding in the Church of England.

Stephen grew up in Lichfield and Croydon, and went on to teach at his old school, Archbishop Tenison’s C of E Secondary School. After 7 years he followed the family calling, and trained for ordained ministry at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford, before becoming curate and then vicar of Christ Church, New Malden. He is married and has three children.
