We need to know the following information about the quotation and your use of it:

About the Work you are quoting from:

• • the title
  • the author or illustrator
  • which extract(s) you plan to use
  • how many words of text, or lines of poetry
  • whether your quotation is the whole poem, or a whole chapter or story.

  About your use of the quotation in a book:

  • your title
  • author
  • publisher
  • pub date
  • type of book eg trade, anthology, academic etc
  • formats required eg hardback, paperback, ebook
  • print run or expected sales
  • recommended retail price
  • language
  • territories where it will be available

  For illustrations:

  • will it be reproduced in colour or black and white?
  • what size eg full page, quarter page, chapter head, cover?
  • what it will be illustrating

  For non-book products eg websites, exhibitions etc:
  Please give a full description of the project you want to use it for, and as much information as possible about it, including

  • the location or format eg name of gallery or URL
  • dates and duration
  • intended audience
  • size of audience or expected number of visitors
  • fees you will charge eg ticket price/rrp/subscription
