Max Allen was educated at the King’s School, Worcester and Royal Holloway College, University of London. He says his most interesting ‘paying-the-rent’ job was working in security at Buckingham Palace.
Max’s work in media began with a short film called SHUT OUT, which he wrote and directed, and which then won an RTS student award. During university vacations, Max co-wrote two comic teenage novels which paved the way for more scriptwriting for children’s television, and that is now his main focus.
He writes fresh, dynamic comedy that is universally accessible and entertaining without dumbing down, including episodes for children’s drama, MILLIE IN BETWEEN, and C-Beebies animations.
December 2019: We are proud to announce that the Numberblocks episode THE WRONG NUMBER has won a BAFTA for the Best Pre-School Animation. CONGRATULATIONS to Max and Blue Zoo!
